I always thought there was another dynamic at work


Didn't see the ESPN thing, but I remember the situation well. I'm not sure I'd call the DA ethically challenged, I remember him being a coward more than anything. Jesse, Al and their mob blasted in to town and ran him against a wall. Rather than doing his job professionally, he caved into them and their extortion rackets.

But your point about a lack of contrition is dead on and like any situation where people's misbehavior has no consequences, it gets worse. These clowns blast into town, lawsuits and press conferences blaring, ruining lives and when the facts come out and prove there is nothing to their story they slink away and are never held accountable for the damage they've done.

I would love to see Jesse/Al and their roving lynch mobs sued by the people who's lives they destroy, but it always ends up being some local government or official who get rolled over in these things that pay for it.
